I have used this blog mainly to post articles I have written for publishing. As my outlets have dwindled basically to one site (Pearls and Irritations), and that only sometimes, and as I have thoughts most days of comments I might make about the absurd state of the world, I will use this site to just share some of those thoughts. This will probably happen more frequently, but I make no promise.

I will probably document or link my assertions less, it’s a fair bit of work putting them in. More like a newspaper column (remember those – no links, no citations …).

So a couple of posts will follow in the next couple of days, one of which may set the dogs barking.

Oh and this shift is a commentary on the state of the ‘free press’, the ‘fourth estate’, whatever you want to call it. It has become harder and harder to express an opinion in a place that has a significant audience. The big players have fenced off the internet pretty effectively. Of course I am free to build my own following of thousands, or millions. If I just want to be thoughtful and well-informed that’s not likely to happen. I could try being outrageous but it’s not my style, and I don’t want it to take over my life. So much for the freedom of the internet. Well, some of my ideas are considered outrageous, but they just ignore those, and me.
